A lot of you may know that Tommy was diagnosed with Celiac Disease about a year ago. We went in for his check-up this morning and they are very happy with his improvement. Last year when we went in for his biopsy, he was 37 inches tall. Today he was barely under42 inches! He really hasn't gained any weight, but I don't care much about that. I am so grateful that we were able to have him diagnosed so young. Hopefully none of his future growth spurts will be affected and he will continue to get taller. We are enjoying the gluten-free diet. I am finding lots to make, and have even modified a couple of our favorite recipes to be gluten-free. At the appointment he did have to get his blood drawn again. I wanted to cry because he was so brave. He got in the chair and asked "which arm do you want?" the phlebotomists were really impressed with him and he just kept telling her that it doesn't hurt, and that he's tough. The ladies asked him to go into the waiting room and tell everyone else that it doesn't hurt. He is such a good kid. I am so happy and gratefull to be his mom. He is a special kid.
