Saturday

Today was fun.   Amy had a Valentine's Day party with a bunch of little girls.  They made chocolate covered pretzels and painted wooden hearts.  Alexis was a huge help, as were the two awesome moms that hung out with me.  It was fun, and all the girls were so cute.  I don't know what I did the rest of the day, but I am beat.

I'm starting a new quilt.  I will be making one for our new niece due mid- May.  I ordered some fabric for Baby Dragon Fly, or Super Baby Jelly Bean.  It was hard to find because the line was released almost three years ago.  I found enough to make a baby quilt and a twin to match the two older girl's bed quilts.  I'm so excited.

Oh, yeah.  I planted a little garden.  I didn't start from seed, because I like the head start that Home Depot's seedlings gives me.

I need a hot chocolate fix.

72 Days Until Summer Vacation

We had two more parent teacher conferences.  They both went very well.  The kids had an early release day so after school we went to play with some friends.  They had fun getting the wiggles out.  We came home, and played some more, and had SSFMN.  The kids watched "The Night at the Museum".  Steve and I went out to dinner at T-Bones.  I liked mine, but Steve was disappointed with his.

I finished the quilt I've been working on.  I am happy with how it turned out.  I think my friend liked it.  I know her baby will get a lot of use out of it.

73 Days Until Summer Vacation

So, Tommy stayed home again today.  I think he's going to school tomorrow.  He seems to be much better.  I'm glad, because I was starting to worry.  He has been under a lot of stress at school, and with Celiac disease the chances of having an ulcer are higher than normal.   We just have to be aware.

Amy didn't want to go to school today because her ears hurt.  I gave her some Mortin and homemade eardrops and sent her off.  She was fine all day.  She's so cute.

Michael had a hard time doing his homework. I asked him to do it while I was at cub scouts, but when I came home he hadn't touched it.  I sat with him after dinner and her did it so quickly.  I keep having to remind him that it's not that bad, and as soon as it's done he can play.

Alexis is speaking in a really bad British accent.  She is practicing for a Boston Tea Party skit she is doing on class.  It is so funny to hear her.

I have been reading some blogs lately that have helped me be more thankful for the blessings I have, but at the same time they make me wonder if I would be as strong and faithful and kind and loving as the women who write them.  The challenges the face everyday with their kids and trials make me so grateful that mine are seemingly meaningless. I did talk with Steve today about how I was feeling.  Could I be that strong?  Could I have that faith?  Would I know how to handle life?  We went over finances again, so that I would know how much we have and how to use it.  It's not a fun topic, but it is so important to know what to do if he were to pass on while the kids are still young, and I still have no job, and no education etc.  I think I would be fine.

I quilted the quilt today.  I hope to be able to bind it tomorrow. It is turning out pretty well.  I can't wait to finish it.

74 Days Until Summer Vacation

Tommy was home with a stomach thing today.  Last night he was up until 1:00am and the came in my room at 4:30.  He did not sleep well, and I was up with him.  I hope he has a good night sleep tonight.

I had a midwife appointment today.  I really dislike the glucose test.  The drink burns my throat.  the kids all wanted to have a taste, but I wouldn't let them.

Michael has had a much better attitude about school lately.  I'm not sure what has changed.  he's been doing his home work well, too.  I hope he keeps it up the rest of the year.

75 Days Until Summer Vacation

Amy was home sick today.  She had an annoying cough.  I'm not sure how contagious it is, but it would be too distracting for school.

After lunch, I took Alexis to Scooptacular and bought her a scoop of turtle ice cream as a thank you for spending the evening in her room with Amy last night.  I think she is happy with her "payment".

I did some work for Amy's teacher today.

I folded lots of laundry, while drinking an extra-large mug of hot chocolate.  I finished of the canister of powder, so hopefully I have the will and self control not to purchase anymore.  I love hot chocolate.

Tomorrow I have my gestational diabetes test.  Gross.

Poor baby, she has no name still.  Michael likes Super Baby Jelly Bean.  I did buy SBJB two pouch slings today.  There was a deal for Free slings as long as you pay shipping.  I like good deals.

Sunday

We had a great morning this morning.  The kids were able to find some quiet activities to do, along with helping me do a few things.  We prepared most of our dinner early, so that when we came home we could just throw it in the oven.  Fast Sunday is a day that we don't want to wait too ling for dinner.  Our friends came over for dinner, and the kids had fun playing, and I had fun talking.  We had pizza, hot wings, and nachos with some chips and carrots.  It was tasty.

Church was a little crazy.  The kids were a little antsy in Sacrament meeting.  I enjoyed Sunday school, and went to nursery with Burke.  He is a fun kid, and I hope that he feels comfortable in nursery soon so that I can attend Relief Society.
