A Review

Yesterday I posted a link for homemade "Biore" pore strips.  This morning I tried them.  What can I say other that amazing!  Oh how about painful!  This stuff is great, but it is basically a skin peel.  I wouldn't recommend using it more than once a month because it is a little irritating to your skin.  Do not use it directly around your eyes, because the skin there is so sensitive and thin I think this stuff could actually tear your skin.  I used it on my jaw line, chin, upper lip, and nose.  It not only clears your pores, but it is a great hair remover. Again it was painful.  I had to tear quickly like removing a  band-aid.  After I was done peeling it off, I used a warm wet wash cloth to take off any little bits that were left.  After that I used my homemade skin toner to cool and calm my skin.  It is a bottle of witch hazel with 10-15 drops of melaleuca oil.  (side note:  I love this toner.  The melaleuca oil keeps acne away, and the witch hazel is very gentle and calming)  Another thing, don't use this less than an hour before you are going to go into public, for example 15 minutes before going to a Relief Society activity.  Also, don't let your 20 month old who is already afraid of masks and face coverings see you when it's dry because it is a little scary.

Yes, I recommend this home made beauty product.

Another purpose I've decided to try this on is Tommy's head wound.  I pinched the cut together and slathered the goo on.  I kept holding it together for two minutes so that it wouldn't pop right back open.  It has sealed it up nicely, and tomorrow when he takes a shower it should wash right out.  I wouldn't use it for really deep cuts that may need stitches.

What a busy day!
This morning I went to the stake Relief Society activity.  It was a Provident Living conference and the classes were really good.  I went to the pressure cooking class, and the cooking with grains class and the gifts from the kitchen class.  I really wanted to go to the substitutions class, but there was no room.

I came home and Steve wasn't back from his YM camp out yet, so I ended up taking the boys on their combined day off.  We went to see Star Wars the Phantom Menace in 3D.  It was fun, and the boys were surprised.  After the movie we had a smoothie and a cookie.  We came home and I fixed a pizza.  We went to a friends for a Ragnar party.  The kids had a blast.  Tommy has a new head wound, but I think he'll be fine.

It's a little late now, and I'm pretty tired.  I've been running around all day.

My garden looks nice, I have a few blossoms on my tomato plants.

56 Days Until Summer Vacation

It is time for SSFMN again.  The kids chose Johnny English over Hugo.  I kind of want to see Hugo.  Steve is on a YM camp out.  I hope they have a good time.  I"m planning on cleaning my room tonight when the kids go to bed.  I hope I have the energy.  I spent the day with a friend.  It was good to talk.  Steve spent a lot of time trying to fix our sink.

I'm tired again today.

The school science fair was tonight.  Alexis placed 3rd in her grade!  I am so proud of her.

I took Burke to play group this morning.  It was a beautiful day.  Burke had a good time.  I was warn out today.  I don't know why.  I ended up taking a nap with Burke.  I have a lot to do.  My house is in such disorder.

60 Days Until Summer Vacation

I guess I took a week off.  Last week was so busy.  My sister came in on Wednesday, and brought her friend and my niece.  Friday and Saturday was the Ragnar relay and I was on childcare duty.  I had 10 kids total, and it was fun.  They all played really well together.  The best part was the Ragnar team finished 3 1/2 hours earlier than last year, so they cam home much earlier than I expected.  They did awesome this year.  I really wished I could have run too, but 31 weeks pregnant is not the time to run 16 miles.

Today was good.  I got a (very) little bit of house work done.  I did some work for Amy's teacher.  Ran a couple of errands.  Watered my garden.  Made chicken cordon bleu for dinner.  It was so good.

We picked a name for Baby Dragonfly.  Amelia Ruth.  I told Steve to go ahead and choose the name.  He had much stronger feelings about names than I did.  We are going to call her Lia.  Now, onto the projects!
