We Ended On a Good Note

I knew going into home schooling that it was not going to be easy.  I had no notions of perfection in my head.  That being said, Monday was our first day of full curriculum.  It was not smooth going, it was pretty bad.  I ended up crying in the afternoon feeling like I had made the biggest mistake for my kids.  I talked to Steve about it and he said that I know that I made the right choice in home schooling and that I did a great job.  It was good to hear that from him.  Our air conditioner went out on Monday afternoon, so we spent the night at Steve's mom's house.  I was so grateful to have some where to go.  Tuesday for school was a little disorganized though.  I ran home in the morning to pick up the school things, and wasn't able to bring everything over.  We did some basics, and then left to go to the library.  I didn't know that the library changed its hours again.  It was closed and we ended up going back to Grandma's house and had lunch.  Later that afternoon we were invited to go to a new friend's house.  She is interested in doing a Shakespeare play.  The kids had a good time over there, and it was nice to meet another home school family in the area.  Wednesday was all around a much better day.  Everything went a lot smoother.  Same for Thursday.  Friday was our test day.

So looking at extra curricular activities, Alexis tried out for volleyball at the new charter school and made the "A" team.  Tommy, Michael and Amy are signed up for soccer.  Soccer doesn't start for a few more weeks, and volley ball has their first game on the 4th of September.  I think we'll be busy in the evenings around here.
