Saturday

I feel like we accomplished a lot today.  The kids rooms are so clean, and the sewing/baby room looks so good.  Steve was gone almost all day, so we were able to do a lot around here.  It's just more motivating to clean when he's not home.  When he is home, I just want to hang out with him.  The kids worked so hard, and we didn't stop until around 1:00.  They have all said that they love their clean rooms.  I reminded them that they always say that, and if they want to keep feeling that way clean up your messes!

I love having a clean sewing room.  I try to clean it, and then 5 little monkeys come in and go through almost everything looking for projects and scraps, and the room becomes a disaster.

I cut all the boys hair.  They look so handsome.

Steve's mom had us over for dinner.  It was nice, and good.

67 Days Until Summer Vacation

Today was good.  We went for another walk, and it was a lot for me.  I can't believe how out of shape I am.  ten more weeks.

After school we went to a friends house, and the kids had so much fun. They have a little over an acre and the kids ran around and chased chickens, and played like kids should.  It was so nice to see.  I had fun just talking with the mom.  She and I need to get together without kids one day and do some sewing.

We watched Kung-Fu Panda 2 for SSFMN.  It is pretty good.

68 Days Until Summer Vacation

Michael lost all of his spelling homework for the week, so he had to re-do all of it.  I felt so bad for him because I watched him work so hard on it.  I am hoping that he learns to put his homework away when he's done so that he doesn't have to go through this again.  Tommy had a hard time with his homework too.  It's good for him to struggle a little bit.  I told him to do three problems, and then come out of his room and take a break, then go back and do three more.  He finally finished.

I went for a walk with Steve.  I think I pushed it too hard.  I do want to walk 30-40 minutes a day until SBJB arrives, but I don't think I can keep at the pace Steve had me going.

I started my niece's quilt today.  It's going to be very much like the one I did in December.

The Office was hilarious.  They could have done without the sexual humor though.

69 Days Until Summer Vacation

Wednesdays are so busy for the three hours after school.  We don't get home until 4:20, then run to scouts at 4:30.  I come home, at 5:45 and help Steve finish making dinner.  The kids finish their homework.  Steve goes to Young Men, Alexis has Achievement Days.  Tonight Steve did not have YM, so he went to a meeting that I wanted him to go to.

Burke and I went to play group at the park today, and it quickly became chilly.  We didn't stay very long.  We came home and had lunch.  I put him to bed, and did a little cleaning.  He woke up early so I went in and took him out of bed.  He and I fell asleep on the couch for another 40 minutes.  I guess I needed a rest.

Baby Dragon Fly is growing well.  She is just active enough that I don't worry.  I am so eager to meet her.  Sleeping at night is becoming a little uncomfortable.  Heart burn is persistent.  I think my least favorite thing about being pregnant is the heartburn.  I can deal with back pain, and leg cramps and weird dreams.  I really don't like heartburn.  Even water gives me heartburn, and I've had to cut way back on my hot chocolate.  Actually, that is probably a good thing.  I've had so much hot chocolate with this pregnancy that I wouldn't be surprised if she comes out with brown hair and eyes.  Hmmm, maybe I'll name her Coco.

70 Days Until Summer Vacation

Today was fun.  The kids woke up to a Valentine's Day card and M&M's.  Steve and I went on a lunch date to a delicious BBQ place.  It was a nice day.

I am falling behind on my household duties.  I have a lot to do, and I'm not getting it done, mostly out of laziness. Maybe I'll get a burst of energy one day and get everything done.

71 Days Until Summer Vacation

So, have I ever mentioned that my kids are a little bit nerdy?  Does Chess Club tell you anything?  They signed up today.  It should be really fun.  The teacher in charge is awesome.

Michael taught FHE tonight.  He did a great job.  The lesson used some puppets that were in the Friend magazine, and he told the story of Nephi building the ship.

Burke has not stopped crying pretty much all day.  I think he is exhausted.  He did not sleep well last night, and hardly took a nap today.

I bought a huge roll of quilt batting.  I can't wait to use it up.  It is 96 inches by 30 yards.  I have a lot of quilts to make this year.

Today wore me out.

Sunday

Three sick boy stayed home from church today.  I stayed with them of course.  I have never heard so much coughing.

Because I was staying home I decided to see how fast I could defrost and cook a turkey.  I started at 7:00 and by the time I needed to throw it in the over it was thawed.  We had mashed potatoes, and green beans that I had canned.  It was so good.
