Update-ish

This past weekend Amelia and I went to Denver to go to my sister's baby shower.  It was a quick trip, but it was really fun.

Amelia is cutting her four front top teeth.  Two have broken the gum, and two are being stubborn and causing some major discomfort.  She is handling it well, with the help of Advil.

Today I must do some baking for Thanksgiving.  I have to go pick up some donuts across town for the Turkey Trot.  I am working early race packet pick-up this evening.  We are going out with friends tonight.  I am looking forward to running tomorrow.

This morning I registered for my first semester of classes for the BYU-I Pathway program.  It is an inspired program, and I am looking forward to earning my degree.

Amy's Sixth Birthday

Six years ago, I gave birth to Amy Katherine Winn.  She is a compassionate little girl full of love and sunshine. Her tender heart makes me smile. I am so grateful to have her in our home. She is cute, happy, thoughtful, creative, kind, smart, curious, loving, friendly, and sweet.  She loves her family, and is always doing nice deeds for others.  Her smile brightens my day.

She is so cute and happy.  I love her so much!

Before I Forget

I want to post some things before I forget...

Amelia has cut her third tooth, it is the top left one, and she has the right one bulging.  She has been so good.

Burke cut his own hair, not too badly.  Only in four spots.

We had frogs (toads?) for a little while, but buying crickets to feed them cost more than buying dog food.  We returned them to the wild after a few weeks.

Alexis is a really good baker.  She made delicious apple cinnamon cupcakes with cream cheese frosting.

We surprised the kids with a trip.  We'll be leaving the week after Thanksgiving.  I'll post on it when we arrive home.

Tommy has new eyes.  We bought him his first pair of glasses.

My sister Molly and my niece Madison came to town two weekends ago, and I'm going out to visit her tomorrow.  Can't wait.

I ran my first 10K race. My finishing time was 56:08.

Amy is turning 6 on Sunday, more on that later also.

Michael is making great progress on being able to make his "R" sound.

I can't find my car keys anywhere, do you know where they are?

Alexis' 12th Birthday

Twelve years ago, Friday, I became a mother.  It was the best day of my life at that time.  Time has flown by and the little baby I gave birth to has somehow turned into a very independent, intelligent, beautiful, loving, kind, energetic, silly, funny, creative, outgoing, extraordinary young woman.  I barely remember being twelve.  I don't remember the excitement of going unto YW and leaving Primary.  I don't remember feeling too old to play with younger kids and wanting to be with the adults, but not quite fitting in with them either.  I don't remember twelve being a hard age.  When I look at my daughter, I see her as a daughter of God.  I see an enormous responsibility.  The world is different than it was when I was her age.  The world will be different still in six years when she is ready for college.  I pray that I can teach her all she needs to know spiritually and temporally, to prepare her to be on her own.

A ton of Alexis pictures

She is the BEST.  I couldn't be more grateful to have her in my life.
